Skin Tightening & Firming Laser

Skin tightening laser treatment is safe for all skin types and can be performed on any area of the body where an improvement in your skin firmness is desired. Popular areas include the face, neck, hands, abdomen and chest.  Most individuals require 3-6 sessions with each session spaced at an interval of 2-4 weeks.

The procedure is performed in our office and can be custom tailored to your desired outcome. The best results are seen in the lower face and neck area; specifically the upper jaw, lower jaw, and nasolabial folds. Skin tightening laser is a also a great option to reduce the appearance of pore size if it is due to loss of elasticity. Generally pores appear larger due to loss of elasticity or congestion.

HOW IT WORKS

This renowned skin tightening technology works by depositing infrared heat deep into the dermis, which is where our collagen and elastin fibers are found. The immediate response to the infrared heat exposure is a contraction of the collagen and elastin fibers. Longer term, fibroblasts (cells that make collagen) are activated which stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin in response to wound-healing which continues to take place for up to 6 months after the initial heating. This tissue remodeling results in a thickening of the dermis and shrinking of elastin fibers plus the contraction of collagen, resulting in the improvement of the skin’s firmness.

DURING TREATMENT

Your skin will be cleaned in the treatment area and your eyes will be protected with safety shields. Your Aesthetic Laser Technician will position the laser handpiece above the skin, then move the handpiece in a up/down massaging motion over the treatment area. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes.

One of the primary advantages of the tightening treatment is that it causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. At its most shallow settings, most people can tolerate treatment with no anesthetic at all. At deeper settings, a topical numbing cream is typically used. Excellent results can be obtained in just one treatment, but the number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. AFTER TREATMENT

Patients experience mild redness in the treated area immediately after treatment. This will last only a short time. Since the procedure is noninvasive, you can resume your normal activities immediately following treatment.
